We use Interac’s® account-to-account transfer for your payments, the same company that secures debit card transactions for the major Canadian banks. No need to share your sensitive banking information to make direct online transfers to businesses.

Easy to use through online banking

Just follow the instructions from the merchant’s cashier or invoice – select your bank, log in to your online banking, and complete the payment. No need to sign up for an account and remember another password, and a record of all your transactions can be found on your bank statement.

How does the Interac® product work?

PayDirect’s Interac® deposit method is easy to use. Go to a supported merchant’s cashier and select Interac® as your deposit method. Follow the instructions to select your bank, generate your unique deposit details, and then log in to your online banking to send an Interac® e-Transfer.

What currencies are supported?

PayDirect’s Interac® deposit method currently supports CAD.

What countries are supported?

PayDirect’s Interac® deposit method is available within Canada.

Who can use Interac®?

To use PayDirect’s Interac® deposit method, you must be in Canada, be 18 or older, and have a bank account at one of the supported banks.

Do I need an account to use Interac®?

You do not have to sign up for a new account to use PayDirect’s Interac® product. You will send the Interac® e-Transfer using your existing online bank account.

How will the payment appear on my bank statement?

Exact descriptors vary by bank but will always include “PAYDIRECT” and “ETRANSFER” and, in most cases, “INTERAC”. They will also include a reference number.

Are there any fees to use Interac®?

There are no fees to use the Interac® deposit method, however some banks may charge a small fee for the e-Transfer feature.

What is my Interac® limit?

Per transaction limits vary and are dependent on your Interac® e-Transfer limit with your bank. The range is usually $2,500 - $3,000 per day and $10,000 per week.
