PayDirect makes online payments easy and secure, letting you transfer funds to merchants directly from your online banking, without the need to provide personal banking or credit card information.

If you bank online, you can use PayDirect. We support most major Canadian financial institution’s online banking systems.

It’s secure and completely free to use. You never provide personal or financial information to your suppliers and you eliminate the hassle of sending paper cheques.

Enhanced security

We use bank-grade security to transfer your payments–the same as the major Canadian banks. No need to share sensitive banking information, simply make direct online transfers to merchants using the email transfer service.

Easy to use through online banking

Just follow the instructions from the merchant’s cashier or invoice – select your bank, log in to your online banking, and complete the payment. No need to sign up for an account and remember another password, and a record of all your transactions can be found on your bank statement.

How does PayDirect work?

PayDirect supports transactions in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Who can use PayDirect?


To use PayDirect, you must be located in Canada, be 18 years of age or older, and have a Canadian bank account at one of the supported banks.




Do I need an account to use PayDirect?


You do not have to sign up for a new account to use PayDirect. You will send money using your existing bank account through your mobile or online banking.




How will the payment appear on my bank statement?


The exact description varies by bank but will always include “PAYDIRECT” and a reference number.




Are there any fees to use PayDirect?


There are no fees to use PayDirect, however some banks may charge a small fee for sending money using the email transfer service.




What are the transaction limits?


Per transaction limits vary by bank. The range is usually $2,500 - $3,000 per day and $10,000 per week.
